Get a Grip is produced by Frost Gamble. Frost asked me what kind of feel I was going for with the beat, I told him I wanted him to make the darkest, weirdest sounding beat he's ever made. That's exactly what Frost Gamble did. Personally, I also feel that lyrically this is some of my best work on the album. The name of the song was actually inspired by the frantic chaotic nature of the song's overall sound. It was pretty hard for me to "Get a Grip" on the beat and It was written without the title in mind. I had no real concrete concept to work from the entire time the song was being written. I move in and out of concepts that involve the end of Hip Hop, starting as a new artist, becoming more concrete in my sound on my own and how I'll support any artist who is working hard to get a grip on their art.
